Job Summary:
– Responsible and accountable for planning and delivering internal audit and consultancy engagements for assigned audit entities / units as per the approved structure. Assigned areas may change from time to time as communicated by the Deputy Chief Audit Executive.
– Review the design and operating effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes and controls in the assigned audit units / areas.
– Examine and evaluate adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of governance, risk management, systems of internal controls and compliance with laws, regulations and approved policies and procedures.
– Regularly interact with Chief Audit Executive to discuss issues and recommend improved business practices.
– Perform all responsibilities and work in compliance with the Internal Audit Manual, the International Standards for the Professional Practices of Internal Auditing and ISACA Standards.
Job Responsibilities:
– Responsible for risk assessment and preparation of engagement level audit plan that take the risk in consideration under supervision of Deputy Chief Audit Executive as well as implement the audit plan and recommend any necessary changes.
– Responsible and accountable for planning and delivering internal audit and consultancy engagements for assigned audit entities / units in compliance with the Internal Audit Manual and/or International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
– Liaise with the Deputy Chief Audit Executive for preparing the Annual Audit plan.
– Lead the implementation of the plan by managing and delivering multiple internal audit engagements concurrently, ensure proper resourcing for implementation of the plan, and adjust the engagement plan as needed in response to emerging risks.
– Independently or jointly plan, lead, perform and complete assigned audit and consultancy engagements (engagement planning, field work and reporting) while ensuring methodical documentation of individual audit engagement plans, audit programs, risk and control matrix, testing results, conclusions and recommendations, in compliance with the IA Manual and/or standards of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and ensuring continuing improvement in the standard of the audit work relevance to business needs.
– Document, manage and perform audit procedures/steps/tests, identifying issues, developing audit criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures.
– Ensure that audit programs/risk and control matrixes are up to date and include testing / auditing procedures that assess design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls in accordance to, and in compliance with, the latest CBO regulations and Bank policies and procedures.
– Schedule audit close out meeting with auditee concerned to discuss audit observations and improvement over controls & process prior to issue in draft report format.
– Lead or facilitate meetings to discuss audit findings and providing recommendations with top levels of management.
– Communicate results of auditing and consulting engagements via written reports and presentations to DCAE and management.
– Evaluate performance of the assigned IA staff,and develop and implement an Individual Development Plan.
– Lead or support in the investigation of significant issues in the Company including fraud.
– Coordinate with Management to follow up with branches or departments to get the audit finding/observation closed if any on regular basis in compliance with the IA Manual.
– Responsible for reviewing the requirement for any new process implementation in various departments, assisting them and also being the part of testing period if requested by the management
– Undertake special audit assignments which are not part of the audit plan as assigned by the manager.
– Assisting the External Auditors with their audit requirements as and when required.
– Lead, guide and train the personnel at the department including scheduling the rotation of staff and monitor their performance against the KPI targets set by the department.
– Ensure all activities are carried out according to bank’s policies, procedures, and standards.
– Participate in other related initiatives and projects as assigned or other duties as assigned by IA management.
– Adhere to the set Internal Audit KPIs.
Minimum Experience & Qualification Required:
– Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field.
– Professional certification – CISA is mandatory.
– 10+ years of experience in an audit firm or similar, with exposure to Internal Audit assignments OR experience in the Internal Audit department in a Bank/ Financial Institution.
